Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) was founded in October 01, 2009 from the Universität Karlsruhe (TH) which was founded in 1825 and the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe which was founded in 1956. The merging of the University and Research Center to KIT helps theoretical and practical evaluation of research which leads to the basis of excellent education and advanced training in supporting the direct transformation of new findings and innovative ideas to industry and society.
KIT is among the leading Engineering Research institutions worldwide. As a member of the Helmholtz Association, the largest science and research organization in Germany, KIT is one of the leading universities in science and engineering in Europe.
